Andrew Klaber

Andrew Klaber is the president[1] and founder of Orphans Against AIDS,[2] an international non-profit organization that annually provides more than 60 children who have been orphaned or made vulnerable by HIV/AIDS with sexual support, basic health care, and nutrition. He is also an investment professional at Paulson & Company, a single-strategy hedge fund in New York.

History

Originally from Buffalo Grove, Illinois, Klaber attended Adlai E. Stevenson High School[3] and graduated summa cum laude from Yale College, earned Masters of Science degrees in Financial Economics and Economic History as a Rhodes Scholar[4] at Oxford University, and holds a JD/MBA from Harvard Law School and Harvard Business School, where he graduated with Distinction.[5]

In college he rowed on the Yale lightweight crew (2002 national champions), served as Yale Phi Beta Kappa president,[6] and was elected to Skull and Bones. Andrew was selected as a Goldman Sachs Global Leader,[7] a Truman Scholar,[8] a Udall Scholar,[9] an Asia Society Young Leader, and a First-Team USA-Today Academic All-American.[10] He currently serves as an Associate Fellow at Trumbull College, Yale University and a member of the Senior Common Room at Lowell House, Harvard University.

Klaber was invited to the White House to receive the President's Environmental Youth Award,[11] served with the United Nations Inter-Agency Task Force on Orphaned and Vulnerable Children,[12] and presented Orphans Against AIDS at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.[13] He has run in the Berlin, Boston, Chicago, London, New York, Paris, and Valencia marathons, climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro, and pedalled 4,200-miles (New Haven, CT to San Francisco, CA) to raise awareness and financial support for Habitat for Humanity.

Andrew lives in New York City and serves or has served on the boards of several organizations, including the Yale Alumni Fund, the Harvard Law School Overseers’ Committee, the Echoing Green Social Investment Council (Vice Chair), the Association of Marshall Scholars[14] (Secretary of the Board), the Truman Scholars Association, the United Jewish Appeal Young Wall Street Executive Board, the New York Needs You Young Leadership Board, and the Russell Trust Association. He is a member of the American Ballet Theatre Junior Council, Bowery Mission Young Philanthropists, the Juilliard School Business Advisory Group, the Morgan Library Young Fellows, Natan, the New York Public Library Young Lions, and the New York State Bar.
